Neighbors Helping Neighbors College Park
College Park residents over 55 can contact Neighbors Helping Neighbors to request services including lawn mowing, leaf or snow removal, changing light bulbs or smoke detector batteries, watering plants, light house cleaning, picking up prescriptions or groceries and providing transportation to medical appointments, errands, religious services and community events.

Trash and Recycling
Households with no one physically able to move trash and recycling carts to and from the curb may request a behind the house pickup with the City’s Department of Public Works. To request this service or for more information, please contact the Department of Public Works by calling 240.487.3590 or emailing at publicworks@collegeparkmd.gov.

Aging in Place - Home Repairs
The Habitat for Humanity Metro Maryland (HFHMM) College Park Aging in Place program is a construction-based resource aimed at identifying and addressing health and/or safety-related repairs and accessibility modifications to the home. The goal of this program is to provide owner-occupied homes with a safe, healthy, and accessible environment. To qualify, you must be a City of College Park homeowner, 62 years old or older, and have current homeowner’s insurance.

Senior Advocacy
The City of College Park Seniors Program aids seniors in College Park, ages 62 and above, with one-on-one supportive advocacy and navigation assistance with government entitlement programs. Case management services are provided for vulnerable seniors in need of additional support. The program advocates and assists seniors with:

Maryland Senior Legal Hotline
The Senior Legal Assistance program provides access to legal advice, counseling and representation to any resident of Maryland who is 60 years of age and older or said caregiver of that person. Priority is given to issues involving the following:

University of Maryland's Golden ID Program
The Golden Identification Card Program at the University of Maryland allows retired residents of Maryland, age 60 or older, to take advantage of a wide variety of courses at the University. This Golden ID Card will not only provide access to a maximum of three courses a semester, but access to the University's libraries, certain other non-academic services and the Golden ID Student Association.

Additional Assistance Offered by the City of College Park
Property Tax Breaks for Seniors - The City of College Park will provide a $150 credit of the City portion of the property tax bill, for up to 5 years. Eligible seniors must be 65 years of age or older and have resided at the property for at least 10 years. The assessed value of the home cannot exceed $515,000. You may apply online, or you can download the application and submit it to finance@collegeparkmd.gov.
Tree Canopy Enhancement Program - City residents and property owners can apply for reimbursement of up to $150 annually for approved tree(s) planted in their residential lot. For more information and to apply, click here.
Chain Link Fence Removal Grants - The City is offering a grant of up to $3,500.00 to help cover the costs related to removing and
disposing of old chain link fences in property's front yard or along a public street. For more information or to apply, click here.
Financial Assistance Program for Individuals and Families - The purpose of this program is to provide financial assistance to eligible College Park individuals and families who have urgent food, shelter, rent, medical, dental and transportation needs. In general, eligibility is determined by residency in the City of College Park and a financial hardship to meet an urgent need. Maximum financial assistance per household is $2,500 for eligible expenses. To apply, click here.
Free Spay and Neuter Services - If you live in the City of College Park or reside within the 20740 zip code and meet certain income or benefit criteria (such as EBT, Medicaid, or VA Disability) you are eligible. Marylanders Online Call Center provides free one-on-one tech support to Maryland residents. It will provide:
